Madis Coffee – Finca Los Positos, Jinotega

Light Roast | Women Coffee Producers Program

Step into the highlands of Jinotega, Nicaragua, with this beautifully balanced coffee from Finca Los Positos, a 21-hectare farm owned by Maria Estanislada Martinez. Coffee cultivation here is a family legacy, passed down through generations. Maria grew up learning the craft, sold her first truck to buy more land, and now runs a thriving, eco-conscious farm that supports up to 100 seasonal workers during harvest.

 Women-Led and Community Focused
This coffee is part of the Women Coffee Producers Program, which pays women growers a premium to support equitable pay and legal land ownership. In a region where women own just 15% of the land, these premiums help open doors to microloans and better futures.

 Flavor Profile
Expect praline and toasted pecan notes, balanced with a mild tart acidity and mellow sweetness — a comforting, approachable cup with a clean finish.

 Process & Varieties
This coffee is washed-processed, emphasizing clarity and structure. It showcases a mix of Bourbon, Catimor, Caturra, Typica, and Parainema varieties, all shade-grown and hand-picked at 1245 MASL before being wet-milled, fermented, and dried on African beds at the Aldea Coffee Processing Facility.

 Sustainable Farming
Los Positos integrates coffee with citrus, bananas, and shade trees to protect soil and wildlife. The farm uses eco-friendly systems, including an Eco-Mill and honey-water treatment, and provides fair wages, food, and housing for workers during harvest.

 A Taste of Nicaragua
This light roast captures the resilience of its producer and the lush beauty of Jinotega. Perfect for pour-over, drip, or French press.

Note for Subscribers:
Our single origin offerings rotate throughout the year to reflect the freshest harvests available. If you’re subscribed to this coffee and we change the country of origin or farm due to seasonal growing conditions, your subscription will automatically update to the current selection. This may or may not come with a price change—if there is a change, it will never be more than $2. In the rare case that a new offering exceeds this amount, we’ll either notify you before continuing or pause your subscription until you confirm.

This process ensures you’re always receiving coffee at its peak quality—fresh, vibrant, and in line with our sourcing standards.
